What Is FireTRAQ

FireTRAQ is the modern electronic data system used by the Florida Division of State Fire Marshal to manage professional certifications, training records, and fire department rosters.

It was recently introduced to replace the older FCDICE (Florida Certification Data Information and Compliance Exchange) system. If you are a fire protection professional in Florida, this is your primary portal for compliance.

What FireTRAQ Does

The system serves as a centralized hub for several key administrative functions within the Florida fire service:

  • Certification Tracking: It tracks professional certifications for individuals, including Firefighter I/II, Fire Safety Inspectors, Instructors, and Fire Officers.

  • Training & CEUs: Users use the portal to register for courses at the Florida State Fire College, view their course history, and track Continuing Education Units (CEUs) required for renewal.

  • Department Management: Fire departments use FireTRAQ to manage their employment rosters, ensuring that all personnel meet state-mandated qualifications.

  • Licensing for Contractors: It is used to manage examinations and licenses for fire equipment dealers, contractors, and technicians.

  • Payments & Forms: It handles online payments for exam fees, certification renewals, and the submission of digital forms.

  • How to Use It

If you are moving from the old system or starting fresh, here is how you typically interact with it:

  1. Student/User ID: Every user is assigned a unique FireTRAQ ID. You will need this to register for classes or for an employer to add you to their roster.

  2. The Portal: Most functions are accessed through the Florida Department of Financial Services (FLDFS) website.

  3. Migration: If you had an account in FCDICE, your records should have been migrated, but you may need to "claim" your account or reset your password on the new FireTRAQ platform.

Why It Matters

FireTRAQ is the "official record" in Florida. If a training course or certification isn't reflected in FireTRAQ, the state does not recognize it for legal or employment purposes.
